Q What would be possible struggles and/or tensions multiethnic and/or biracial individuals may face? And, why? Unpack it in terms of the socio-cultural functions of the national history(-ies).
Successful and constructive intercultural communication depends on our capability to respect and understand each other’s culture. People from different nationalities and different regions have their own unique traditions, religious beliefs, specific customs and values that shape them. Apart from these, one’s family history as well as county history contributes immensely on shaping their personalities and behavior. Religious histories, gender histories, socio-economic histories, etc – all shapes us in different ways and creates our personalities. For multiethnic and biracial individuals, the values and belief system they need to conform to can be confusing.
